Bernard Collins is teacher, poet, artist, and performer.  In his work with the Arts & Spirituality Center’s We the Poets program, Bernard makes poetry into a three-dimensional, living entity for school students throughout Philadelphia.  Through We the Poets, he has worked with students at Mastery Charter School, Shoemaker Campus, and Community Education Partners, Hunting Park School.  An artist, poet, and performer, Bernard has worked with the Mural Arts Program and has exhibited his art at the African American Museum of Philadelphia, the Walt Whitman Cultural Arts Center in Camden, and City Hall in Philadelphia, among other places.  He has taught art and writing at Lincoln University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the African American Museum of Philadelphia.  Bernard has an MFA from University of Pennsylvania and a BFA from Temple University.
