MISSION

The Arts & Spirituality Center empowers and transforms communities through spiritual and creative expression, in partnership with a broad range of multicultural groups.

As a non-sectarian organization, the Arts & Spirituality Center serves people of all faiths as well as those not religiously affiliated, nurturing the life-giving resources and values that strengthen the human spirit and build the capacity for change. 

Activities integrate spiritual expression with poetry and creative writing, visual arts, music, dance, and other artistic media.  Through its programs, the Arts & Spirituality Center builds bridges and deepens relationships across cultural and racial divides.  The work enables individuals and communities to draw on their intrinsic strengths to overcome alienation, to impact the revitalization of neighborhoods, and to heal the wounds of injustice. 

Eighty percent of the people served to date (2005) have been residents of underserved neighborhoods, predominantly from West Philadelphia and North Philadelphia.
