COMMUNITY OFFERINGS
PERFORMANCES

The Arts & Spirituality Center has produced several performances, including:

Coffee Gallery Cafe: featuring "Photos of People Looking Mostly Like Themselves" by graphic designer and photographer Jim Gerhard, plus local singers, musicians, and poets.

Creating Peace and Healing through the Arts: at the University of Pennsylvania. Local musicians created a healing environment and ritual space on campus following the events of 9/11. Cosponsored by the Women’s Center, The Christian Association, and Counseling and Psychological Services.

The African American Woman: The Journey co-produced with its creator Pat Rosby Armstead in the Iron Gate Theatre. Center volunteers put together the gospel choir, and provided dance, piano accompaniment, and drums.

Haiti: Partnering with the Fonkoze Development Fund of Philadelphia, the Center presented a reading by critically acclaimed Haitian novelist Edwidge Danticat, and another event that featured Haitian art, dance and music in addition to a presentation about micro-enterprise development for the organized poor.
