WORKSHOPS
The Arts & Spirituality Center has conducted many workshops, including:
Dancing the Twelve Steps: led by dancer Sr. Ramona Cecile at New Jerusalem Now to facilitate and support each participant’s healing and recovery process by using the mediums of drawing, movement, and group sharing.
Healing Percussion: led by Marcy Francis. A six session class in the healing hand drum through polyrhythms, affirmation and songs.
Poetry Evening: with poets Deborah Burnham and Vic Compher at New Jerusalem, focusing on the events of September 11 and the themes of grief, impermanence and change.
Honoring With Our Hands: a workshop and memorial service for persons healing from loss, With artist Susan Jordhamo and director Susan Teegen-Case
Breaking Bread Together with TOVA: artisic projects that speak to issues of social change.
Finding Your Voice: Calling from the Heart - Giving voice to your inner healing spirit. A two hour workshop of vocal exploration, led by Holly Phares, professional singer/conductor/voice coach
The Spiral-Shaped Journey: Living in the Praxis of Prayer with author, artist and retreat leader Jan L. Richardson. Co-sponsored by Central Baptist Church in Wayne, PA.
From Fragmentation into Unity: Writing workshop with poet Deborah Burnham.
Frog Prince & Princess: Shedding the “Lookist” Bias, Finding a Deeper Beauty with Rabbi Helen Nakdimen. In the traditional tale, the spoiled and beautiful princess is repulsed by the ugly frog only to find that her enforced promise-keeping leads to life-long romance and love. Encountering the Frog in our lives via playful improvisation and visualization.
God is an Onion: Peeling away the Layers to the Sacred Artist Inside with Rabbi Helen Nakdimen.
