Mother where are you?
by Tammy Miller
7th grade, Mastery Charter School, Shoemaker Campus
I used to hate going to sleep,
because I knew when I woke up,
would say Mother where are you?
Tears would stream as I screamed for a Mother
to come and save me.
But now my Mother is no more.
People tell me she’s in a better place,
but that day I heard she was no more,
I wasn’t
Different emotions flowing in my body.
Sorrow, guilt and pain are just one of the
white words in a dark room going in
circles around my brain.
Now I ask again,
Mother where are you?
Mother where are you?
She says,
“Right where I’ve been from the beginning- standing right by you."
